From the Rivermen:
Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forward Anthony Nigro to the Rivermen ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen.
Nigro, 22, has yet to appear in a regular season game with Peoria this season following an injury during a preseason contest on Oct. 1. The third-year pro has appeared in 129 games in his career, all with Peoria, and has accumulated 22 goals and 18 assists for 40 points along with 58 penalty minutes.
Last season, Nigro set a career-high in goals (13), assists (12) and points (25) over the course of 75 games. The Woodbridge, ON native was originally selected by the Blues in the sixth round (#155 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
…with the NHL in lockout this will happen more and more. There just isn’t enough room in the AHL for the third and fourth line guys right now. So Nigro, who admittedly is hurt, is going to Indiana for a bit. He’ll be back in the Rivermen line up at some point I am sure.
This was in the Journal Star as well. I really hope the first comment in the article is a joke.

It’s good to see the Blues affiliated with a team closer to them. I heard Alaska was a great organization, but the travel time to get players back and forth was crazy.
Yeah, that’s a joke.
I hope.
